Academy

From the curriculum standpoint, the school is divided into

Preschool: Ages 3-5 years

Matriculation School: From Standard I

The student centered curriculum is made of three components

Academics, Arts, and Sports. At Sarah, Arts and Sports are not extra or co-curricular activities. They are integral part of the curriculum. Students will be exposed to these activities just like the way they are exposed to Academics.

From the primary school upwards, we follow the Matriculation syllabus for private schools. The curriculum and the books followed for the basic education have been carefully chosen and the teaching methods followed by our teachers are scrutinized on a weekly basis by the coordinator and the correspondent . Books are frequently updated as information changes, especially in volatile subjects like computer science. In languages, children learn English, Tamil.

Imparting the values of knowledge…

Quality teaching is assured in Sarah Matric Hr Sec School right from Pre KG itself. Teachers invariably use multimedia facilities like CD ROM and Audio Visual to convey better idea about the subjects to the students. To make children speak English fluently and confidently, the school uses audiocassettes and learning tools. Students are provided with an opportunity to construct models and create charts from what they learn.

In the case of higher classes, a bit more serious approach is maintained. Debates, group discussion and projects works are conducted to create better awareness about the subjects among the students.

Classes are conducted by qualified and efficient faculty. The classrooms are spacious and specially designed furniture is provided in each classroom. Strength of a class is stipulated to just 25 to 30 this helps teachers to concentrate more on each student . Students are admitted after an entrance test.

Value Based Education

Responsibility to Sarah students includes both towards oneself and others, within and outside their school community. Students understand that they are responsible for their behaviour, attitude & work and take ownership to the consequences that come with inappropriate behavior.

Students practice ethics that help them develop a positive sense of self. They display etiquette, socially acceptable behavior that make them likable and presentable.

Service learning in Sarah is aimed to positively influence social responsibility and academic success. It provides students with opportunities for reflection; develops empathy and compassion increasing their belief in the efficacy of their helping behaviors.

Teamwork among students is achieved through classroom activities designed to focus on collaborative learning that fosters students working together to solve problems.

Children learn that everyone deserves respect regardless of age, gender, occupation or designation. They also learn that self respect is as important as giving consideration and regard to others opinions, feelings and work.
